The IndieCade festival in L.A. is happening October 8-9 this year, so if you're in the area you can make both it and TIGJam. I went last year and had a lot of fun--I wish Culver City was always teeming with gamers and developers, with consoles and PCs set up in cafes and the firehouse for all to play. It's also pretty crazy walking around a downtown area taken over by a massive Humans vs. Zombies game. The talks in the conference beforehand (starting that Thursday, the 6th), also look pretty cool.
I'm assuming most people here already know what it is, but if not you can check out their website at
http://www.indiecade.com. It's kind of like a film festival but for games (mostly video, with some board and group games), so it's a juried show with awards and whatnot, but it's also a chance to hang out with fellow indie gamers and developers (and interested passer-bys) and have some fun.
So, is anyone else going this year?
