Like the topic said, how much it cost for a music track that compose for a game? and can a CC(creative common) licensed music used in sponsored flash game for free?

i doesn't know anything about music so composing a music is kinda harder than creating the game.

The price varies widely depending on the composer (sometimes even type of track); you'd have to find the ones you're interested in and ask. It's often rated as $/minute of music.

As for the CC license, as far as I know there're different types of it; e.g. there's the Creative Commons Noncommercial which obviously doesn't allow it (though you could still contact the artists themselves to request the permission).

I think what you might also be looking for is royalty-free music:

[Edit: Oh, I re-read and it's more an issue of what category is sponsored flash games? My bad. Though I'd imagine since it's an established money-earning way of publishing the games, it'd count as commercial use.]

As far as the commercial thing goes all I have to say is that I know sponsorships don't fall under commercial as far as the greensock tweenlite library is concerned.  I don't know about the CC license though.

As for music a very rough estimate is that I have been able to get songs for around $100 for a 1 to 2 minute or so looping track.

I would check out AudioDraft (http://www.audiodraft.com/) to get a price comparison. It's like 99 Designs but for game audio

hope this helps Smiley

No, I wouldn't think CC music can be used in a flash game for free UNLESS (big unless here): it says you are allowed to use it for commercial works. Even then, you have to make sure you follow the other requirements, such as attribution. Here is a link to a advanced soundcloud search for songs that allow commercial use: http://tinyurl.com/67p7zf9

I hope this helps.

I would recommend spending a little money on your games audio. It's a serious part of your brand and can go a long way. A friend of mine wrote a post about it that you can check out. It has some tips on finding good game audio Smiley
