Thx guys, @surt - you can have any size you like, but it's built for low-res sprite work, like the ones I'm showing. There are other tools like Spriter which would work better for bigger sprites.

Here's a few more parts I drew tonight, combined in different ways..

This game looks insane. I don't know if it's just me but there's something so psychotic about the visuals. I fucking love it, make more!

You should release that before Ludum Dare, because it MIGHT just be helpful

@Carrion Thanks! Hopefully the game ends up being a bit off-kilter.
@kurtss Yeah I was thinking about that.. but I don't think it'll be ready. It'll probably be released with the proper mm beta.

Update: Started work on animating composites within the sprite editor. Here's three dancing chaps, demonstrating the re-use of animated parts within a comp. Taken from a screencast of the editor. The second guy is wearing red speedos I think.

Besides the fact that this dacing animation is probably the best animation I have ever seen... the 3rd picture puzzles me.
Let me get this straight... The guy, the hat and the trident are 3 different entities.
How do you manage to make the hat overlap the body, the body overlap the trident (hand) and the trident overlap the hat? What kind of magic is this?  Shocked

The separate parts are: the body, the arm on the right, the head, the hat, the trident. So it's no moonmagic: the arm holding the trident could overlap everything to give that result, but its actually not overlapping the trident, the trident merely has a 1-pixel space where the hand grabs it.

Wow, you have an awesome sprite system here. With separate sprites on a character you can do some cool stuff, like capes and hair affected by the wind and such. Although I guess there is no wind on the moon.

And can I just say this...

100 PAGES!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

That's nearly 1500 posts. It's been a great 18 months, and I want to thank everyone who's encouraged me to keep working on this. I've had followers on this thread come and go, with only a couple being around from the very start, but one consistency is that TIGGERS have been very supportive, and without this community my day-to-day development would be quite lonely. You're like the work colleagues an indie will never have. But right now the real development starts! I hope to ramp it up a notch as I race for the next 6-12 months to turn Moonman into a great little exploration and building game.
