Bought it. I agree with the others, it's been really impressive to see this project coming such a long way. Allthough i wasn't entirely convinced from the start, i agree with that quote, the game has always had an "inviting strangeness to it". And now it just looks awesome!! Well done, and congratulations on the release  Beer!

The ratio of sales to reviews for ANY game on steam if phenomenally low, most games have no more than 10% of players who bought it actually write a review, usually significantly less (Dota 2 for example has a players to review rate of approx. 3%), just because there are few reviews doesn't mean there are few sales.

Even if you multiply 45 reviews by a 1:10 ratio or a 1:30 ratio, it's still a sad state of affairs. But eigenbom mentioned somewhere on twitter that "it sold well enough to allow him to continue", which implies way more than the meager 1k units estimation.

Good luck.

MoonQuest is finished!

Steam (Windows): https://store.steampowered.com/app/511540
Itch (Windows, macOS, Linux): https://eigenbom.itch.io/moonquest

A personal epilogue: I started development on MoonQuest (then called Moonman) in 2011, and I remember posting the first images here on TigSource. The enthusiasm I received for those early years really motivated me to work harder and gave me the emotional support I needed to work by myself, alone. 8 years have passed and, believe it or not, MoonQuest has been my main project for that entire time! The game ended up being a *lot* bigger than I ever intended, and if you ever need to explain scope-creep just point to MoonQuest. I don't recommend spending such a long time on a single project, but sometimes you can't predict how these things will go! Over that time I've made so many game-making friends, from indie to AAA, some of which are from those early days of this devlog.

I've moved on from Tigsource but I will always remember it fondly. To anyone reading this: I hope your game projects are fulfilling and that you are able to form strong bonds with other indie developers, encouraging them, giving them great feedback, and exploring new kinds of games together.

- Ben

What! No way Shocked

Congratulations!

This devlog was one of my main inspirations. A great project, well- documented! I can't believe it's over.
It's so strange.
