I fear having more than 2 buttons for the left hand would be too confusing for some!

I guess playtesting will give the truth, but Braid did have 4 buttons total Smiley

Working on this, things coming up slow but steady. I'm quite happy that the I have the story nearly ready in my head; I'm just not sure if I want the ending to be happy or melancholic. Currently working on one particularly interesting segment:

Too bad this scene lacks any decorative stuff whatsoever!

Is that dude jumping to his death? Reminds me of that one part in Limbo... good stuff!

I'm nearing the next bigger cutscene. Man, doing those is such a pain. I'm quite confident in that the story will be at least remotely interesting.

I realized that I'll need to rearrange some of the earlier puzzles; I fear that there are more than few situations where the puzzle and level layout makes perfect sense to me as the dev, but is thoroughly confusing to any common player. With a game like this it's annoyingly important to keep stuff consistent (although there are several very inconsistent things in the mechanic itself, such as the fact that all machines apparently don't need any external energy and that air wont freeze).

((Also the part with the companion may be horribly annoying due to his AI. We'll see!))

If it helps, I loved the demo. Your games never fail to be interesting, but the time-mechanics within time-mechanics are wonderful to play with. And the setting is great. I'm sure your attention to the story will be well worth it!

The third area was completed a while ago and I am now trying to get the cutscene done. Mostly this means animating guys without limbs.

Dec 15. I start working on more music. Got finals and a client I HAVE to take care of before then, and then I'm all Officer Alfred. :D

Does the cutscene need music underscored?

By the way peoples... the soundtrack to this is available for pre-order. There'll be more music added to this as it gets finished.

Woah. This looks great, Hempuli! Why haven't you told me on IRC that you're working on something?!

I shall try this some day soon. Maybe even this evening. The trailer is nice, and the concept seems promising. I wish you the best of luck in the IGF, even though I'm entering myself. Gentleman

I'll get back to you after playing it!
