Now I'm planning on naming my website/company "Secret Boss". Is this a good name?

EDIT: Was originally considering other names that I crossed off the list, updated first post to reflect that.

Secret boss. Giant mook sounds like an insult/racial slur. I'm not sure what a mook is. Secret boss is catchier.

Giant Mook is IMO little better, but not that much. For me those words don't just "click" together but may be just me. Secret Boss is catchier but more boring.

It's a common enemy, like a goomba or waddle dee. But I suppose if you don't know that, it does sound like an insult. Okay, scratch that name off the list.

"Secret Boss" isn't really inspiring me either. I'll need to think about this a bit more.

If it's a common thing I wouldn't worry about it, I've always pretty out of the loop in regards to common lingo. (I don't know what a waddle-dee is either)

Secret Boss  Epileptic no thanks.  How about UnderLord or ExtraLevel or Hidden Boss. Don't like secret boss.  Just sounds cheap

We need a company name clinic here. Giant Mook sounds good, too. I first pictured the MOTHER mooks, as in alien mooks.

Aliterate! Big Boss!

Probably taken, but you get the idea.

When naming our cooperative we used these references:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indie_game_developers
http://cocatalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First
http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/index.jsp

and mook is a derogatory term coined in the Scorsese film, 'Mean Streets', meaning a loser.

How about 'Hidden Boss'? It sounds a bit better than Secret I think

Yeah, 'Hidden Boss' sounds more like the standard phrase for this sort of thing (I'm thinking Akuma, originally).

I think Smithy is right about Giant Mook. If you're familiar with common gaming slang, it's a great name, but if you aren't, it sounds like an insult. In other words, it's great for those who visit tvtropes, but not for people who visit urbandictionary. It's better to find a name that has broad appeal.

Metal Gear Solid did it first. Tongue

I agree. Thanks to everyone who suggested it. If I go this route, that's the name I'll use.

It looks like I'll need to do some more brainstorming before I can decide on a name! Thanks to all who replied, and sorry to disappoint. Smiley
