This is a long story in the making, really.

I've been working on a music player for quite a while with bass.dll, based off of a sample program that came with FreeBASIC to learn the very basics. The problem I have is the program plays damned most anything except for MP3s, which I'd like it to play.

Mainly, I'd like to learn more about bass.dll in general, but their website (and apparently everywhere else) has absolutely no information on how to use the dll. I find this frustrating for the programming hobbyist to get into the usage of useful files.

Can anyone help me out a bit by directing me towards anywhere that has information?

I use BASS!

Its a library...

Usually you'd use C/C++ and link with the .lib. Then release your program with the .dll.

Are you using it through FreeBASIC or what?

If you download the library at the site, it comes with help files explaining the commands:
