Hello, I'm Ninspriterx from DreamShow Productions. Our current project is Cloud Journey, a game about the adventure of a boy's lost spirit finding his way to the afterlife. It's a simple story but complex under the surface. We're in desperate need of a programmer.

Here's a sample of how the game's sprites have changed over the years:

Here's an old mock-up:

Now we can't offer immediate pay once you start but if you're willing to stick through the end we can offer you 10% of the game's total revenue when it's completed, or 20% if you do more than just program (like sprite or compose music.)
We may not sound like much but we're already under contract with a publisher and we only have to finish to start making money.

If you have the a bit of interest for the project, let's please talk in detail and I'm sure it'll be something you want to be apart of.

Sounds a bit suspicious. If the game has been in development for 3-4 years, then what happened to the last programmer?
What other projects or games have you and/or your team done? I can't really find a website for you or your work.
Coding is a huge undertaking, so who are the other team members and what are they doing while the programmer is doing a great portion of the work?

10% royalties for a programmer with no up-front revenue for your work is hilariously underpriced for a project 'in desperate need of a programmer' unless your game is somehow mere weeks from being complete. And let me tell you, projects are never mere weeks from being complete.

If you can't afford a reasonable salary for a programmer for your project, you should figure out what you can afford, and pay that alongside the offer of royalties at the end to make it worthwhile. Asking people to work completely for free based on the promise of vast riches somewhere off in the distant future is insulting.

If you have a set of milestones or a clear task list for completion and can demonstrate to a programmer your team's seriousness about knocking off the task list and shipping your game properly (such that it can actually sell copies), at that point you might be able to convince someone to work for lower up-front pay and a slice of royalties. But only then.

Also, this post would be less insulting if you just said you were looking for someone to work for free on a project you intend to sell when it's done. That's more honest, and then you might have people looking at your project rationally and deciding whether to get excited about it.

You lost me at C#, honestly... otherwise, I'd be interested, but not at 10%. 25% and no C# and you'd have my attention.
