Another mockup. Backseat rumor kid is going to be one of the major quest givers in the game. Gonna work on this bus interior too because it's gonna be visited a ton... Okay, now I'm interested.

Crap, this script engine making stuff is harder than it seems. I'm gonna have to keep working on this during the week. Aaaaaaugh! Edit: We're expecting some heavy snow, so I might have a few days off work to catch up to my schedule. Edit 2: Snowed, but also a power outage.

Well, our little natural disaster has ended. I spent a few good hours clearing branches from the yard that had collapsed due to ice accumulation. There's still a tree leaning on my barn that I need to take care of too.
I'm considering launching a kickstarter for this project. Natural disaster aside, I haven't been able to work a full day on the project since I first thought it up, mostly because I need to work and pay bills. Theoretically writing the code out for the game shouldn't take too long because I'm not doing anything terribly new or difficult, but getting the time to do it has proved a lot harder than I expected. As of right now I have less than a week's worth of work done over the course of nearly three months.
Now, normally this would be due to laziness or procrastination or lack of motivation, but I have managed to be productive throughout this time, and I really want to make this game, but I just haven't had the time to focus. There've also been a few setbacks that have made some of the work I've done obsolete, and I think a lot of those setbacks are also due to doing work very sporadically without time to really plan and think things through as I do them. (e.g. making art in an inconsistent style, making xml files in a difficult-to-parse method, etc.)
Summary: I want to make the game! Oh look, no time to do it lol.

Planning to reboot and kickstarter this bad boy within a couple months. Going to work on getting enough presentable content going to do that in the meantime.

Are you sure you want to KickStart it? Nothing wrong with that particular method of doing it, but being that the game in particular is very 'modular' and non-linear, you could also alpha-release it and provide updates from time to time for new stories. EDIT: And great to see that you're back to working on this! The game sounded pretty fun.

Not 100% sure, but I think that's one of the best ways for me to get the game rolling, and the end price tag wouldn't be huge. At this point I just want to get back to programming, and the major obstacles are time/energy/money. I have the discipline and a ton of motivation to get the game going just for the fact that I want to make it, I just haven't been able to.
