Fallen Invasion



The game, without an name (For now) is an real time strategy shooter, with the interesting goal of killing all the humans with larger and larger monster insects. The game is in currently in open Alpha, and is available at the bottom of the page. If you want to be in the development (Either suggestions, ideas, Level/Character design, etc), you can contact me on irc: #Ludumdare on Afternet.org

So... what does the gameplay look like? You spawn waves of bad guys to kill the good guys? Who builds turrets and barricades? When do you loose?

You, the Invaders(Insectiods) are invading the Humans(Defenders) while they are building stronger and stronger barricades and turrets. They also get stronger and bring more guards to defend. Your mission is to slaughter every wave of turrets and human they send and build.
For now, you can't die. You will just be put in an partial spectator mode until you get enough money for another Insectiod.

Hey, pretty nice game here.

When I was playing it, I felt like the point cost had very little correlation to power of the unit. Brood, for instance, didn't feel like it should be worth 320 points when I could get Lurker for 300.

There was also a few errors with collisions on walls where I would get stuck if I tried keep against a wall and move.

Was there any way to force spawn allies? Or do they all just spawn randomly around the map? I think it would be cool if I could spend points to buy more insects. Especially the suicide guy. I don't think any spawned and I don't see it being very useful as the player's character.

Overall, I liked the gameplay and graphics.

The pricing of the Characters are something i'm trying to balance. (The brood has an large ammount of health, making it an very strong unit.)

The Collison errors and bugs are being worked on.

When you advance an wave, a new type of Insect becomes available for the "AI" to spawn.
Making the early game harder, and disables the strongest units until later in the game.
