Greetings,

My name is Steven O'Brien, I'm a classically trained composer based in Ireland. My style of composing emulates the strong emphasis of form and objectiveness that can be found in much of the music written between 1780 and 1830, but also takes strong influences from contemporary styles of composing. I compose primarily for the piano, but will gladly compose for orchestra or chamber ensemble. I'm fairly strict with my compositional style, so I'm not going to be able to give your game a Hans Zimmer score or a John Williams score, but if you'd like a Steven O'Brien score, you've come to the right place.

Here are some samples of my work:

A set of preludes for piano:

Some piano sonatas:

Some choir thingys:

Some old chamber ensemble themes written for an RPG game:

I'm primarily interested in writing for games with an artistic edge, in other words, games that aim to inspire emotion or creativity in the player. I'm not very good at writing music designed for exciting action games full of explosions and car chases and whatnot. Please determine whether or not my musical style will fit well with your game before contacting me.

If your development budget is low, but you still think my style of music would be perfect for your game, send me an email anyway, if I like your game enough, we can probably work something out. I'm a hobbyist game developer myself, and have worked on some huge projects in the past, and I understand how frustrating it can be to find the right guy for the job with so little money.

Contact me at [email protected] if you have any interest in commissioning work from me for your game.

Thanks for reading,
-Steve
