Putting the spotlight on Derek exclusively seems too much like favoritism, though.

I've got something, but admittedly it's kind of complicated compared to what we could be doing. How about we have small mugshots of different iconic indie devs appear as they VA themselves going "3, 2, 1, GO," during the start of a match. Maybe they could just say something fight-appropriate that they wrote while a graphic counts down? Whatever.

Something to save for later. That is if everyone could agree on it.

No voice samples. That'll make it sound tacky.

True. Indie devs aren't known for their love of the camera.

The only indie dev I could pick out of a line up is Cactus, and only because of his acceptance speech for the Nuovo Award at the IGF.

Yeah, I don't really like the cult of personality towards Mr. Yu. He is worth appearing in the game, but so are so many other indie devs. There are so many that deserve that spot that including them all would be a waste of time, also a "tig-related" thing.

If we are including anyone, that should be SUPER JOE.

I don't think the developer pose stage was a serious suggestion.

I see no reason to include devs in the game. That just seems like fanboyism at its most pathetic. It's not like they aren't being recognized already through the inclusion of their characters and ideas.

Hey is Dwarf still gonna be included? He's kinda broken right now, but I suspect he'll be a LOT better when blocking is implemented. Plus he looks the best.

The dwarf has some big balance and playability issues. And while DF is known for many things, it doesn't have universal, memorable characters. In fact, the dwarf is the only character on the roster who does not represent a specific individual. For that reason, I think he would work better as a support character, and DF could be better represented as a stage.

No. There are times when you want to recover, and there are times when you don't. Each attack is useful in a different situation.

If Lyle could create Green Cubes, that would make him incredibly overpowered. Green Cubes do far more damage and knockback than any other ranged attack, besides a few very slow ones. And efore long, the battle would become filled with green cubes, quickly devolving into a throwing match for all characters.

that would be confusing for the player. if the cube was green, then disappeared when it hit something, then the player would be like 'wtf i expected that to stay'

btw, that's aesthetic, not estetic Smiley
