uploading has never worked. Just use imageshack or tinypic

lol ok I'll try linking it. I love how it's just an accepted problem though, is it hard to fix?

it's probably just a flag somewhere and a permission change on a folder, but I doubt Matthew Wegner (who hosts the forums and tigsource) would change it if we asked. It saves on bandwidth at least.

That's the upload bit. That image linking is... eh... tricky for some is another issue, though. It might be an SMF thing.

I was having problems uploading an avatar up until now. I was never able to uplaoad a picture from my PC so I was linking it from my google photos but it wasn't working either. Then, a moment ago I tried again and after failing, I noticed that my URL started with "https" I changed it to "http" and voila I have an avatar.

For anyone stumbling upon this like I did, this is how I got it to work (circi nov 2017)

-100x100 exactly
-~5kb
-hosted img (need to copy the address of the image exactly, no the img address hosting the pic. ie. right click on image "copy address"
-make sure http and not https when copying link address into the tigsource link

cheers
