Desura, they're awesome. Running XNA on games isn't too much of an issue, just have to install that redistributable before playing. Chances are that Desura's game client has a dependency installer too. Control... Yeah Is there any way you could use an input system other than xinput?

Quick update: two days ago I decided I would try to draw all of the art (at least 1 frame roughs for every planned entity, but mostly full rough anims) for the game within the next week or two. I've drawn a ton of stuff already. There's a lot of stuff I don't want to show because it's actually too cool (spoilers? feh). the least interesting things: the obfuscated sheet for the cracks and a 2x zoom of the black powder bomb carriers : next is either going to be the mesas (high-altitude bandits designed to shove, birds and other arcane things, goats and stuff ) or the dunes (beetles, mummies, more hardened bandit types, sand sharks, etc). Let me know which you'd like to see sooner

Personally the mesas sound particularly perplexing. However, all of your areas sound awesome so anything would be cool to see.

They both sound awesome but I vote for the dunes just because I want to see mummies and sand sharks. I can't wait for this to be finished!

i drew some more cracks for the cracks by tracing voronoi diagrams and fiddling around a bit. i also drew a tee-pee kind of thing I vote for the dunes
alright, i'm on it be aware that a lot of what i'm showing is unfinished and will probably be revisited more than once before the game is released. for example, this is much scribblier, less menacing, and probably smaller than the final sand shark will be. it does serve to suggest a number of things about the implementation, though: sand sharks have a fin and a wake that will remain visible for a time, and they can peek above the sand and open their mouths to charge prey the head and fin will be drawn separately to make it look like it is bending the body and such unless i make them bigger, the only way to hurt them will be to lure them into biting something unappetizing, like a cactus i have a mid-term tomorrow, wish me luck

Thems some kickin' rad beetles, Andy. I'm not really sure how birds are 'arcane' though?

real art looks like the mona lisa or a halo poster and is about being old or having your wife die and sometimes the level goes in reverse

thanks I'm not really sure how birds are 'arcane' though? because dinosaurs birds are mystical mythical creatures. they're also terrifying a well and a mummy which emits putrid gas when shot

Mid-terms are going well. I didn't get to spend as much time drawing this past weekend as I would have liked, though i saw this picture so I wanted to try drawing a camel; camels and the huge feather-hatted fellows who ride them I'm having a little trouble getting the right amount of contrast because I'm not used to drawing on such a bright background. I need to actually learn and experiment more with shaders so I can have mirages like I want to. That might help to make the poor contrast better work toward the feature I intend it to be ah well also, an armadillo

yes, the camels are not amused with the bandit party. they will spit all over the place I just discovered that cactus trees exist ( thanks, reddit). They're going to have to go in the game somewhere. a cactus yggdrasil which spawns spider gods could be good. I could make a whole game on that. Evil Deku Cactus <3 @indielurker: thanks! I like your avatar, what is it from? I'd rather do proper high-res stuff in a similarly simple style but I have neither the time nor the skill (yet)
