Hello Smiley

Well this is a small minigame 2 friends and I made in... I guess 2 days. So far this game is a survival shooter, were you try to shoot jetpack zombies which will get faster over time or change pattern.
One type of zombie (2 to go) and 2 weapons (1 to go) are already implemented. Upgrades will also be done :D

There is no story, you are just a vegan nerd hipster who flies through an old school with his jetpack and tries to kill all the jetpack zombies, totally normal Smiley

Every weapon has levels which level up through collecting the zombie blood you get by killing enemies with your peas or carrots.

I use Java + LWJGL + Slick2D.

Not ready yet sorry :/ I could upload the current version which has nothing but zombies getting faster and debug 2 weapons.

I think you need to make more of a deal with the themes you chose. While it's two seemingly disconnected themes you could still design it to make sense in some way. PopCap have always been masters of this. In "Plants vs Zombies" it still makes sense that some plants shoots peas, that the wallnuts makes an blockade and that the plants would actually protect the house from zombies. Shrug

Interconnecting the random themes with small gags and gameplay features adds incredibly much to the experience. It doesn't need to be much, if you could fit an amusing story into this it would be great. You could add features such as a time ticking enemy - a zombie that's about to stab a poor little pig, so you need to shoot him before the pig is stabbed and explodes.

I had hoped that it would be about shooting AT vegans  Lips Sealed

You know, like "Zombie shooter" means you shot at zombies but not that you are a zombie

What is the exat problem with the theme? the vegan? or the zombies? I guess the vegan because zombies in a school is pretty much normal (funny, because it wasn't years ago but now people execpt as "logical" trough films/games [so I got do the same :D vegan vs. zombies]).
Oh and I hope people get the joke of a dude with vegan powers Wink There is a lot of things I could add but as said it's just a mini game nothing more. The more stuff I would like to implement the less the chance this game would be released Shocked

Updates!

  • changed the graphics for the items to the new version
  • added some debug Durr...?
  • started to polish the info panel. The guy who made the graphics need to check this
  • made the spawning better
  • changed the resource loading. Now I only get images from references instead of allocating new ram for every image (Slick2D loads textures only once even when requesting another image with the same id)
  • added a load screen to pre-load all resources/sub images

Thanks a lot guys! I will do my best to finish the game. but don't expect a long game, this is just a simple game ._.

Updates:
  • added my own message system to the game (based on my sprite font renderer)
  • changed level system to a more simple way.
