Did anyone else experience issues extracting the games in Vista?  I just tried dumping all the games into my /games/ directory and about one in three games had problems extracting files - mostly .wavs and .dlls, but a few others too.

I'll try re-torrenting it, I guess?

It crapped out and died on what appeared to be the same files after re-downloading the .zip.  However!  Using WinRAR instead of the default Vista extraction tool seemed to do the trick.  So if you're on Vista and experiencing problems extracting the torrent file, switch to a third party zip extraction tool.

Uh! The built-in Vista extraction tool? How long did you wait for it to unzip that 240MB file? For me, it's usually about as fast as an old, blind and lame donkey missing two and a half of its legs. (That means agonizingly slow, if you can't tell.) Everyone should get 7zip or something as a replacement.

Wait, Soulja Boy announced the Demakes competition page in a video review of Braid??!?

In other news, why does he keep saying there's no point to the game?

I'm going to put some work into playing all entries then I might start the secondary awards, though last time some of the awards got very few people voting, and with the sheer number of games I might do something different. Maybe instead of poll people just post which games they think should win the cathegory and why. Then I can count the votes myself.

Secondary awards? What's all that about? Do we win special hats or badges? (I'm new here.) Wink

Same awards as the main contest. Basically permission to jump up and down screaming 'I won something' and posting it on your blog. Mainly its just egoboos.

That is where I learned that "egoboo" means ego boost and was the inspiration for that game's name. I love Egoboo, but it got so embroiled with politics, crappy maintainership that it was hard to stay excited. Plus, the code scared me... a lot. It had a lot of potential, I just couldn't get into it enough to try writing it and they were all going in a separate direction than me.

Admitedly, they have someone working on it very nicely now, but I keep getting distracted by other projects.

Wow.  And here I thought you misspelled "egoboost".  Well, now I know.  I never expected you to have a history with that game.
