It's fun! But too hard to play at work in short bursts. Any chance of a saveonquit feature?

I can't get it to run, as soon as I click on it it just says it's stopped working.

Have you installed .Net, XNA and updated DirectX?

You're not an idiot, Microsoft are for their nonsensical error messages.

I have a very slow upload speed(capped at 8KB/s!) so it takes a while to upload them.

Sometimes after doing a mission I can't move my character, and the text kinda screws up.
I hope that's not intentional Sad

Do you mean while your character stops walking to answer the phone? (should last about 4-5 seconds).
Or do you mean that you get permenantly stuck and can't move ever again?

If it's the latter, the no, it's certainly not intentional. Sad

What sort of mission was it?
Did you succeed or fail?
did you die on the mission or just run out of time?

I have never seen this happen so any extra info you have would be very helpfull to aid me in fixing it. Smiley

After doing a mission, the phone rings then after the text finishes I can't move. IIRC the text was glitchy last time too, showing two messages at once.. I'll give it another go to test for ya  Cool

Is this after winning/losing and starting a new game?

OK, I have issolated the cause of the text-glitches and player sticking on the second play of the game.

What are the rules with regards to updating the game after the compo is finished? We don't want to update the current download and get into trouble or anything.

(Thanks for the bug info MekanikDestructiwKommando, it was most usefull.) :D

Due to the number of people having issues running the game we've finally gotten an installer put together. This version can be downloaded from here:
LSVS Game Page
It also contains a few bug fixes related to playing the game again after losing/winning, and adds in some of the art that was originally missing. I'll keep the link to the original here since it's the Compo one and I don't know the rules on updates after the deadline...

Do let us know if there's a problem with the installer. Smiley

New gameplay video!! :D

Done in the style of those shonky badly edited game-videos that you used to see in computer-game shops back in the 80's. (Complete with over the top 80's rock.)

The only thing missing is a voice over by Pat sharp! Wink

And for those who missed the update, a new installer is available that should make it run just fine on everyone’s PC, Get it here >> http://www.zombie-cow.com/lsvs <<

I'm sorry to say this but the installer still doesn't solve the problems for me. I still get an error message as soon as i try to start the game. Feels sad, since this looks great in so many ways (even more so after watching that video).

What version of Windows are you running? I've only been able to test it on XP and Vista.

I have XP on this machine. So that's probobly not the problem. Could be that I tried to install XNA to get the old version running, before you made the installer. Or perhaps its just my cracksmoking computer.

I don't know if you used XNA for the level editor, but atleast that ones working for me. So if you used XNA for that one too, it's probobly something else, like the resolution or something like that.

Nah, level editor is totally separate. I had forgotten we packaged that in, I might write a quick guide on using it, since it has some(lots of) issues.
