The game looks beautiful (that intro, man!) but the controls take some getting used to. It feels kind of like one of those games where the developer understands the controls better than most players because they programmed it and know exactly how it's supposed to work, but don't communicate the little stuff well enough.
I also don't like that you're required to basically perfect a level to unlock another one - some of these levels are long for such a harsh requirement. But that's just me. Super Meat Boy did the same thing, except most of the light world levels took under 30 seconds to complete, which made it more bearable.
Hmmm. I got used to the controls pretty quickly. Maybe it was just you? Only thing that took me a while was figuring out dashing nuances.
Also this game at it's core is about mechanical perfection, speedruns, etc. I'm glad they reflected that in the progression as well as the high scores.
