Did a tileset anyway, and the password screens.  The main things that're nagging me now are the following (and any suggestions would be appreciated):

1: any interesting way for lady million to appear on-screen at the start of a level

2: how should she die? I don't want to rip off the megaman-style death with big-ass balls shooting out in all directions.

I like the portal idea.  It may not be especially vagina-shaped, but there's a good chance there'll be a portal involved Smiley

As for the ball of tits...I quite like the idea of her turning into a flock of birds or something when she dies; that would be rather poetic, and possibly quite effective on-screen...  I might just have her flicker away as well, though....

It started off good but now I don't know. When you've said tits and vagina for the 100th time at age 9 it's not that much fun anymore.

I thought we tried to create strong nonsexual female antagonists.

FWIW, I have no trouble whatsoever with sexualizing my leads should I feel the fancy to do so.  I've tried to avoid sexual objectifying LM in this game though.  But, you might have a point (I'm thinking about the intro text here).  I'm going to consider revising some small bits here and there.

If you have any other particular suggestions you'd like to make, I'd be interested in hearing them.

Update: added lots of sound effects today (essentially all bar one).  Might have to do some volume balancing on some, which isn't the nicest of prospects, but whatever.  Also added some basic encryption to the password entry system, and worked a little bit on trying to improve some of the background music.

My menus are beginning to feel unsatisfyingly sparse (in addition to the layout issues). 



('hooker' is just a placeholder...)

I don't want to make them too elaborate (well...part of me does, but I'm ignoring that part for now), but it just doesn't feel interesting to navigate them at the moment; they have sounds, and basic responsiveness animations, so...graphics must be what's missing?

I guess I should stop adding new things to my list and work on what I actually said originally I should do next (namely: more platform/enemy/obstacle types).


EDIT:
Made some moderately flashy in-game animated things, added in a level-description format that I'll be able to work with.  Blah blah blah.  Still no conveyor platforms, still no rising spikes, still have 3/5 bosses without animation or things to do.

Started playing about with level-design, and having level-specific enemies, such as the following birdies (who can be quite annoying indeed  :D ).



(they're perched on the window-sills; the thing he's standing on is meant to be a cloud...it's awaiting redesign...).

Hey, 4-in-1 doesn't sound like a great name for the compilation. Maybe if it was Lady Million and Friends, or 1D Collection: Feat. Lady Million? Lady Million Box! Million Games?

The games aren't all 1D though (though I guess that wouldn't matter too much, given its bootleg nature).  Hmm.  I think the real game title will take some thought.

What about the Lady Boy Love Collection? If you have time, you could mock up some text for the back of the mock Lady Boy box such as "Featuring 1D superb platformer Lady Million, heart break sadness simulator Sick Panda" etc.

I actually thought 4 in 1 was a pun on the fact that you're making all four games in 1D - my mistake Smiley Anyway, I think "Lady Boy Love Collection" is a pretty good title.

So.  Got two of the bosses done today (that leaves two left to go, which shouldn't take too long). All bosses done; finally!  Edit: weapon graphics also done.
