I'm committing to this compo to give myself some structure and a deadline. I'm off to a poor start with:

-A one man design crew.
-Camping for 4 days stating tomorrow.

But still!

I'll be demaking Dead rising (since 2 people are already doing Shadow of the colossus...  Cry)

I'm not aiming to win, my goal for this compo is to have something to submit.

Edit: Renamed
Good luck to all!

Edit again:

Download link.
http://thatsrad.net/_dump/WZM.zip

Oh and controls:

z - attack (z is for zombie)
space - jump
arrow keys to move.

 Final thoughts on page 2

You can demake Shadow yourself too, you know. But it's also nice to have variety.

Horray for the return of the forums! I didn't get much done due to camping over the long weekend but I'm broke as a poet till September so that should keep me off the streets and under the warm glow of my laptop monitor for a while.

I've got this so far:

-Player
-Bunch of wandering Humans
-Walls

Alright!

So the demake has changed to be a poorly translated (when I get to making dialogue) NES bootleg of dead rising.

I did some solid work today and I have:

Animated player and Zombie sprites
Scrolling camera action
Poor Zombie AI

Things I still have to implement

HUD
Collisions and attacks
Clean up sprites/ make more stores
Humans to save
Camera picture taking system

And if there's time:

Multiple weapons
Ability to go in the stores

This is still my first game, remember. Embarrassed

I wish.

It's a background joke from some episode of the simpsons.

Other great storefront jokes:

I can't believe it's a law firm!
Sneed's Seed and Feed (Formerly Chuck's)
Much ado about Stuffin'

Today I added:

-Multiple tiers of zombie animation. From still warm to headless

-Collision detection (finally!)
-Player Damage
-Zombie Damage
-Enhanced zombie AI (If the player isn't close enough, they just wander. If the player is close, they have an exclamation mark show and they head towards the player)

Still need:

-Humans for to rescue
-Player death
-Camera System

Little short of half way to the deadline and I think I'm doing pretty good. The structure of the contest and the community here helps with motivation.

I've been down for the count for the past almost a week now and I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish this in time for Sunday.

It's about 80% done but if I don't get better soon I fear it will be curtains for me and this demake. Perhaps next compo  Cry

Are you going to be participating in www.pyweek.org ? Game looks pretty cool so far, I like all the SD zombies!

Even if you don't finish on time, you can always finish at a later date, I'm still poking at Ultraviolent Moon Patrol, its sloooowly coming along. I have a level editor/loader and more guts now anyways :D

Yeah, I'll finish it someday for sure, but what's this about an extension?

Is Pyweek the same idea but just a week per comp? Sounds like awesome! thanks for showing me!
