Holding a direction while pressing 'fire' performs different shots - for example, holding left while on the ground performs a soft shot while holding right performs a hard shot. Definitely needs jiggly physics and the only distinction between characters should be the size of their bologna bags. Should be one with jugs that overshadow her entirely.
If it were me I'd do a "flat" sprite that would do the actual playing and and have the dirty pillows be separate for physics reasons.
