Been banging out unlit first passes for plot-centric scenes in my game. Here's a few:


This guy lives in the shadow of some ruins, he also moonlights as the tavern's bouncer and has a mild obsession with you



The life and soul of the town, you'll find different people in the tavern on different nights



The farmer's family home is also used as the town event hall



The ruined temple of Othalamos, the Missing Voice



And finally a little kitchen. You know, for food

The timing for that parry is really juicy. Think your FX might be a little much, though. Less is more! The Souls games have parry > stab > foot pushout. I think you could get away with power draw > parry + burst > stab. The burst on each character is a little distracting, and it's really hard to see the enemy's spear get pushed back (maybe some smear or bend?).

Otherwise it's really good. Some of the details you do have are really nice.

Hello xix, thank you so much for the feedback! Can you elaborate on the burst..? I am not exactly sure what you meant by the "burst"..

I guess that wasn't clear. Sorry!

When the solider lunges to stab at the player and the player parries, there are two effects that spawn. On the player is the 4 way grey U burst. On the enemy is the circle burst with the horizontal flattening. Having them be separate FX indicates two things that are unrelated, but a parry that affects two objects would be better communicated by having one effect between the two objects. I would spawn just the circle burst with the horizontal flattening inbetween the two objects.

Tbh, I don't understand what's happening after the parry. It looks like he's sticking his hand in the enemy's chest and pulling out his heart, and then crushing it in his fist, *and then* the enemy gets pinged on his damage....

edit: For as unclear as I am on the specifics, the animations still have great pacing tho Smiley

A fun fire spell that targets everyone on the map (including allies ^^). Might not be the best plan on only 1 enemy, but it looks cool ^^
And, it procs my Counter-Renew ability, which puts Renew on me (it heals a little at the end of each turn), so it's all good!
