I prefer a more Engrish-y, all-caps approach to naming. For example:

SECRET SNEKING - Metal Gear Solid
PULMBER JUMPING - Mario Bros
NUCLEAR ADVENTURE - Fallout
KIRBY AND THE MAGIC CRYSTAL - unlicensed Kirby spinoff
BATTLES OF MEDIVAL - Age of Empires II

yeah, just changing words with synonyms isn't very good.
Best idea would be to take inspiration from real bootlegs.
Totally unrelated words and engrish are a must.

I think one game set in space should be called ULTRASPACE THE BRILLIANT FLASH OF LIGHT BOY.

And maybe we should suggest less synonym-tastic names for the plethora of Shadow of the Colossus games? Selfish Genocider Beast Genocider?
