I of course mean in context of the other sprites that have been made sorry i didn't resist :D feel free to simplify it even further, i did that only because i liked the dwarf that the guys on the thread made and i wanted to add a more "fantasy" look adding an armour and changing his beard  |

changing his beard I used dithering in the first version, as well, but it didn't go with the cel-shade style of the previous sprites. Now do you see how hard this is? |

I think Eclipse's take on the dwarf is definitely the best so far, but Inane's versions of the colours are the best and most in keeping with the style.
Also, I think Inane's hands are more along the right lines. That curled up fist has been bothering me, but I couldn't put my finger on why.

Xion`s works the best i think, its also the most polished one, i would tone the nose a few levels down, but thats it, the cat could work like a sprite that follows the character.
I think its balanced enough to not fall in the "lost vikings theme", and the icon on the helmet is ace.
If i can, ill work out some animations soon guys.

I can't believe this thread is already seven pages long, and six of those pages are entirely focused on choosing a sprite. Although I suppose this makes a certain kind of sense, since DF doesn't actually have graphics, so there's a lot of different directions we could take. I vote for #2 with #4's beard. But they're all great. If i can, ill work out some animations soon guys.
Speaking of animations, Naija still needs a couple more. Hint, hint...  (Not directed specifically at you, Oracle) |
