I love this game. The only problem I have, is that after the first launch, game won't start
Delete the save directory it creates. Where are the saves stored? In the folder you launched it from, might end up on desktop.

i want to try this gem, but the dowload link doesnt seem to work for me... just a white screen and an error message, i'm the only one that has got that problem?

Released a new version which should hopefully fix the save / load related bugs people have been encountering: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/84007/Delver/delver-alpha-4-10-12.jarWill need to either play it from a different folder than that previous version, or make sure to wipe the Save directory that the old one created.

Thirdly, I ran the game on my machine and there was a slight issue. It decided to use all 12GB of my RAM, and when it had used it all, the game proceeded it drop down to 1 or 2 FPS every few seconds. Memory leak? It started dropping frames hard when I went down the first set of ladders, however it was already using about 8GB of RAM at this point anyway, according to the CoreTemp desktop widget.
Can you try this new version, and see if it eats all your memory then too? Fixed some save / load related bugs that could cause stuff like that. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/84007/Delver/delver-alpha-4-10-12.jarAnd you can post whatever you want about it, I'm not in stealth mode.

AMAZING -- Totally love it (from what i can see on the video) I was checking it out during class and couldn't wait to get back to my dorm room to check it out! Version 4-10-12 doesn't work on my computer, it just shows a black screen, it works fine on my friends computer though, he has a windows machine. I have a macbook pro if that helps, also the version 3-24-12 work fine on my computer. Also you should put something in that shows the power levels of items/armor and the charges left. Great work so far, I hope you keep working on this!

I had to register on the forums here to say that I love it. I can't wait to see what you make of it either. I love the art style, and the new front room that looks just like the Ultima Underworld starting area. I didn't see if you mentioned it as a feature yet but a map would be neat I think.
I got down to the orb, but I didn't make it more than two levels up before something got me from behind.
Thanks for letting us play with this!

How'd the boss fight go? I think I need to give the boss Lich a glow effect or something so that he's not just a skeleton in a black robe.
