I'm thinking in one or more too...Unleashing the machinery called "Anarchy" (for a limited time only, an overload could destroy one mind) I hope Cactus enters... pretty much all of his games have that theme already.
That's really true. He is a genius on that hahaha

"Fuck society" actually seems like a pretty amusing theme.

So, after talking to Derek:
Official compos will probably make a return after he's done with Spelunky HD, hopefully on a more regular schedule.
So Spelunky XBLA is done and dusted. What do you say Derek, time for another TIG compo? I've dug out some of my favourites from this thread to give you some ideas. Single screen compo.
Make a game with a set resolution, single screen, any game type, art style, whatever. Just use a SINGLE SCREEN to play. Title screens, credits, options screens are not part of the limitation.
Sports Game/Physics Game A double theme compo similar to the Adult/Education one. Choose one or both of the compo themes to base your game around.
Warioware-esque Compo
Build a funky 30 second game that has a predefined set of keys. All entries are plugged in to a larger game(similar to Dragonmaw's idea) where they are grouped into playlists.

single screen sounds lik a good idea, but at the same time, I'm affraid we'll have only the same type of obstacle-course platformers or arena games

Pah! Steam schmeam. He's obviously not working on a Steam version as it hasn't appeared on Greenlight yet. Besides, Xbox exclusivity means it'll be at least 12 months before any ports appear. Now quit stalling and lets have a comp.

True.. damn you Microsoft and your exclusivity! Single screen could be too limiting and confuse. Isn't a fighting game a single screen thing? Does it have to be static? Can it be randomly generated?

Single screen. Not fixed size.
IT'S A SINGLE SCREEN! ALL GAME MUST EXIST IN A SINGLE SCREEN. Like a shooter, for instance. That can be good.

Like "Duck Hunt"? I prefer another genre...unless we use a device to play it, like a Wii controller.

A sports compo could also be cool.
Most sports games out there just aim for realism, and IMO they've got realistic enough around 10 years ago. In the 90's we had a bunch of creative sports games like NBA Jam, Arch Rivals, Mutant League Football/Hockey, etc. Now only Nintendo does that kinda of stuff with Mario and even those games are getting stale cause Mario already played pretty much every sport out there.
Anyway, I would like to see what kind of twists people here could do to some sports.

I seconds Sports Compo. It would be fun to add weird mechanics to real sports, or just make something up Calvinball style.
