Original maps or not this must have SD Hitler in a crazy robo suit otherwise it's not Wolfenstein to me.
Wholeheartedly agree. If this game does not have a super cute Hitler, life will simply be all the worse for it.

Good suggestions, guys, thanks. I'll try to add all of that stuff. Including the original maps would be copyright infringement but I'll make some that resemble the original. Same with the music, will be in a similar style but will sound NESish. I just quit my job last week -just to prove how indie I am - so I have plenty of time to dedicate to this, but I don't want to promise more than I can deliver. I'll get back to work and I'll post some updates later. Peace.

In keeping with the "poorly researched bootleg" tradition, maybe a somewhat anachronistic villain could be added, like Osama bin Laden or Richard Nixon.

Wait, is this a new new Wolfenstein game or the old new Wolfenstein game? Didn't they already return to Castle Wolfenstein and wasn't Hitler in that one, or did that one never get actually made yet... No, I thought I saw it in stores. I'm so confused. In keeping with the "poorly researched bootleg" tradition, maybe a somewhat anachronistic villain could be added, like Osama bin Laden or Richard Nixon.
Oh yeah.

phew! Thanks God an extra week was given, so I hope I can still make it. Excuse the lack of updates, shit came up and at some point I really thought I wouldn't be able to finish anything, but then I saw the new deadline and pushed it extra hard. I still have work to do, but this could be considered the final look of the game (meaning no more mock-ups):

Oh shit, had I worked for the whole month like I worked during the weekend, but no, sadly I couldn't. Anyway, here's a tech-demo. Buggy, incomplete, shitty and all, but that's what I got. Arrows - move Z - open doors/strafe(when holding) X - fire Enter - Hold + arrow to change weapon. K - Change input to keyboard (default) J - Change input to joystick#1 (2 buttons only, you still need to hold ENTER to change weapon) ALT+F4 - exit DOWNLOAD (Windows) http://g.theyfedusonlittlewhitelies.com/wolfsddemo.zipCongrats to everyone who made it in time! Good luck! Seems like there's a bunch of awesome games to play, so, let's get it on.

I just tried this. It looks great, and I can feel my brain's Wolfenstein receptors firing. It's a shame sound didn't make it in.

This is awesome! The best part is that because Wolf3D is essentially 2D level wise you could potentially just import those levels right out! ;O

Heh I'm sorry I couldn't add more stuff, but I had to show what I did, no matter how incomplete, as I invested quite some time there.
Seeing what I managed to do (engine wise), it would be dumb just to dump everything. Of course I plan to finish the thing with a proper engine that reads external levels and stuff.
I don't know how hard would it be to have it read the original Wolf3D levels like Josh says, but that would be sweet. Should be possible and there must be enough documentation on the level file format.

This looks like more fun than the original. heh. Sometimes the first-person perspective can be claustrophobic. Isometric adventure style really seems to make sense here.
