If I ever start a successful company, I might change it's name to a picture of a baby maiming a bear or something.

Challenge their minds and all that, y'know.

-Soft, -Corp, -Games are so cliche, why not end it with "Destroyer" or something?
That's it. Dibs on "SoftCorp Games"

uhm, i know what you mean... thank you, i think i'll fix that Smiley(mostly between the n and the l but maybe adding a pixel to each character too)

edit: done, it's still tight but i added a pixel of space between to almost each character and fixed the L that was really too close to the N.. also the shadow now have a slightly tone of blue to make the characters contours less blurry than before, thanks Phil!

I don't have company, but I lead a project.

Regarding the etymology, have no idea really. The name really sucks. I won't tell you what PQ means. I am ashamed.

I tried to register a bunch of different names, but they were all rejected for being similar to existing businesses. Screw you, Federation of Australian Radio Broadcasters! It turned out I didn't need a business yet, so I just started releasing stuff under my own name to simplify branding.

I just use Luminous Studios because, as far as I can tell, it's not copy written yet.  Smiley

I came up with my company after hearing an interesting word a few times and how the word was used by the people who said it. It reminded me about what some friends and me wanted to achieve with a game studio called Reanimation. (that didn't work out...oh and same goes for another one) Anyway, the creator of Reanimation Studios said he wanted the development of his games to be all about constant refinement. I was all for that and felt the same way. So the name of my game studio has the same basic meaning (and sounds much more exotic than Reanimation). To make a game better and better until it becomes an exceptional product.  Also, a day or two ago, I found my game company's name to be ironic because of who my team will consist of.

As with Maisnon, my name is my thing I stick with for now. Maybe some of these might develop: Parallel, Gyro, Wild Card, and Scribble.

Plankhead is the name for my Internet avatar that I used from 2003 till the middle of 2007. I think I saw a surrealist painting of a man with a piece of wood for a head, and decided to develop the character further. I recently brought the name and character back when thinking about what to call my film production company: Plankhead Cinematic Extravaganzas.

Obviously, when I eventually release a game, it will be under a slightly different label: Plankhead Interactive Extravaganzas.

The reason for the ridiculously extravagant name is because every movie studio has "Pictures" or "Films" or whatever, and every game studio has "Games" or "Studios" or whatever. And just "Plankhead" felt a little too minimalist, even though that's probably how everyone would refer to it in normal conversation.

Eventually when I get out of college and start charging money for stuff, I'll have to incorporate. I'll register my massively tiny indepedendent media conglomerate as "Plankhead Limited Liability Corporation II: Revenge of the Limited Liability Corporation". It will look hilarious on legal documents, and I'll get to make a fake trailer announcing it, with the tagline, "The liability just got limited."
