Nice, I don't even get to read my own damn interview!  Well, I'll post it somewhere if you guys want to see it.  They asked me some questions I thought were fairly interesting. Smiley

I loved the totally cliched answer you gave to "What makes a game 'indie'?"  :D

That's totally my tried-and-true response to that question... but the sad thing is that that's also what I believe. Cry

Without wanting to derail the thread from the interview and into a "what is indie" thing, I like that answer you gave - independence in game development is not only being free from publishers but also not bowing to the market. You have to be free of both before you are truly doing what you love for the love of it.

You have to unlock yourself, before you can be a true indie dev

"Indie" to me means unsponsered. When you have a separate publisher and designer team, you have to make games that are more mainstream. "Indie" games are handled entirely by one person or group of people. That's just my take on indie, though.

Also, trying to keep this on topic:

Well, I'm pretty sure I know which IGN is. Roll Eyes

So I'm guessing this was a minimal effort email interview deal? It's cool that they're giving exposure to indie developers, although I don't really see how it makes any sense to bury it behind a paid barrier.

To their credit, they wanted to do something more interesting... actually it was because of my schedule that we had to do an e-mail only interview.  I'm sad I didn't get the opportunity to go along with their original idea.

What was this original idea?
