The vulture skull mask! I remember when one of the posters here suggested the idea, cool to see it in action. Yay! That was me And it is very cool indeed to see it for real!

Looks great! The first picture is definitely my favorite. I missed the introduction of a graffiti mode, can anyone point me to it? Hey, James/Joar, any new updates/gifs? Could use some good news today

"graffiti mode"?
there's always been the weird letters and tagging. They're not crucial though, so they may have stopped appearing after the first 100 pages.

Yeah, it was a big part of the early alpha aesthetic of the game for Joar. Since its super time-consuming to do and purely cosmetic we had kind of abandoned hope of making it a part of the slick new Rain World, so didnt talk about it much other than attempts to squeeze some tests in occasionally when there was a second of down-time. But now we have a few weeks that we cant touch the code while the PS4 porting then testing finishes up and the games off being localized, so Joar has been able to dive into tagging up all my lovely austere surfaces It's looking awesome though and really adds back an important flavor to the world. Im glad its worked out this way!

Loving the graffiti. There's something about the combination of the hard-edged, simply coloured Slugcat and the richly textured backgrounds in those screenshots that just looks lovely.

All Joar's art! He finally gets to take a break from the programming slave pits and do the thing this he's wanted to do the whole time! Funny that this just randomly happened because of a delay, because looking at it now it feels pretty essential to the aesthetic.

I played this a couple weeks ago at Day of the Devs! I enjoyed it, but if I remember correctly I was often confused about what types of surfaces I could cling to and/or climb on. I don't know if the IRL setting made it worse though, I don't like playing with an audience behind me watching

Previously I thought that the observers were super fast snake-things that slither really fast through the pipes of rain world. But the way the tail end of the observer bends around that corner has got me thinking--are the observers like party horns, rapidly extending and retrating through the pipes via a central place where their stem is latched?
If they are, I'm not sure what kind of implications that would have gamewise, but it does sound cool.
