Considering that Naija's sprite was made first, and already has over a half dozen animations, and scales well with Quote, the Golden Knight, Akuji, Turner, and the Naked Ninja, I think we'll leave her as she is.

I kind of like the huge sexy hiker. His size would go well with his slow movement and high power attacks. Plus, the roster needs some more large characters.
I've never played Sexy Hiking, but are there any other characters in the game to which his scale could be compared? If not we could pretty much make him however big or small we want.

He climbs some trees. Unless they're Redwoods, Sexy Hiker is roughly human-sized.

I like the idea of making him heavier than average, but I think making him a giant is going too far.

I think that's just about the perfect size.  Smiley

For reference, here are all the sprites submitted so far, side by side.

Dude, your animations are top notch, same as all thats been contributed here by some great folks!

Its a damn shame i cant help out with some pixels tho, since my tablet is dead.

Oh, by the way Yigguth, i really like your Sexy Hiker sprite, and im totally down with him being like "bulky" kinda like Balrog is going to be, but i think the main problem with it, is the stance of the sprite...as it doesnt really convey (thats the word?, well comunicate, transmit) a fighting stance for a fighting game.

Like, hey im ready to wip out ass.

Personally, i would change a bit the expression on the face, move the hands with the hammer a bit more towards the character, and lower the "body/face" a few pixels.

I think that would really punch it up a bit, but in general im loving everything about this collab, i cant crit almost anything else, maybe some adjusting on the pallete of Dwarf, and minor stuff on his stance, but really, everything looks ace!

Loving to death ninja man, hockey man looks ace, BAH, im loving everything!

Dude, Xoda's the boss of the Startropics game series. And he's awesome. But that's a bit of a departure from the thread's intention, isn't it? *ahem*

Very good pictures, Oracle. Seeing from sprites from you would be awesome. Especially your Liero worm Kiss

Also, is there even the slightest chance that the explorer from La Mulana will make his way onto here? La Mulana was pretty much the first indie game I played, and it's the game that got me into everything else. He deserves at least a cameo appearance in indie brawl Cry

But Lyle looks too different

Yeah, i feel the same, like i took too many liberties with him, but its neccesary to find a balance between "badass" fighting stance, and the original material.

Also, since they are so small in size (the original) there are a lot of gaps to be filled, so you cant really translate the exact same character in its style to a bigger size, or else they kinda clash with each other.

@GeneralValter

Why thank you sir, i would love to wip out sprites (and hopefully i will) but not having a tablet really breaks my heart since its been ages since i pixelled without a table(heck even drawn in general its been ages)and its hard getting back in the groove.

haha, that almost matches the style of the sprites so far perfectly, with the long-torso-short-legged thing.
We should just use that  Tongue

And yeah, definitely love Secksy Hiker.

I figure there's plenty of room for everyone in the long run. The only possible limitations are a) people get bored of working on the game or b) there are so many they can't be balanced... which I really doubt would happen since I've heard Marvel vs Capcom 2 has 50 characters and is still finely balanced.
So hold onto your dream and one day it will come true, just like in animes.
