So, I'm back And we're working on a small new game, called its Deepest Deep Dungeons of Doom(a reference to Nethack and other roguelikes). In this game the player selects one of 3 classes: Crusader, Witch or Shadowblade and starts to go down a dungeon. The core gameplay is a little different of our most games, you just got 3 buttons, attack, defense and use item. This gameplay was inspired in Sworcery, rhythm games and roguelikes I'm not very sure if this will be fun, but it's surely worth a try! Here are some screenshots: You can see gameplay videos here: Gameplay Video 1Gameplay Video 2Gameplay Video 3And here's the witch unnecessary concept: I'll post more info soon!

Wow. This looks amazing! I'd love to hear more details about the gameplay -- how is it 'rhythmic'?

Thank you guys! The game it's not musical or anything, it's just inspired by some rhythm games, I tried to make it very simple, you just need to attack and defend (and sometimes use special items) at the right time. The idea is to understand your enemy pattern. Attacking makes you much more vulnerable and defending makes you unable to attack for a few moments. There is also no horizontal movement, just vertical (between floors) and usually no random values.

It's made in Flashpunk, so theoretically it's possible to port it to iOS and Android. So, I hope we can do it

Fantastic news! More questions, I suppose: - You said "no random values," does that mean the dungeon won't be randomized? Or are you talking about things like damage and healing amounts?
- If not random levels, what sort of re-playability might be offered and how long would a single game last?

This looks really cool. Has a vaguely old-school Prince of Persia feel to it. I like!

Art work is great. Hmm, only 3 buttons? Sounds perfect for a touch device.

Although the gameplay doesn't really interest me, I have to say the spriting is absolutely bloody lovely.

Art looks great! Looking forward to seeing the game play in action. I'm not 100% convinced that it would work on a phone, but since I have not played it yet, i can't say for sure.

Thanks people @Alehkhs: The "no random values" are about the damage and healing effects, some of the items do have random healing or damage, but usually they are special cases. The dungeons are almost random, you will find different thing in each floor each time you play, but some floors have fixed stuff and the others have a (hidden) list of stuff that can happen there. So there is a level design, but each time you play the game is different. @Franklins Ghost: Yes, each character has some unique attributes and ability. The Crusader regenerates hp and can receive random miracles (damage to the enemy, shields, etc), the Witch regenerates mana and can cause critical damage with spells, and the Shadowblade can escape combats and counter attacks if he can get a perfet timing defense. @Alex Norton: Well reminded, the combat style is something similar to the old Prince of Persia. Just to clear things out about the gameplay here's just a small preview of the game: GAMEPLAY VIDEO:As I said it's very simple, I just hope this is fun

The video got me very excited and I can very much see why/how it would work on a phone. Can't wait to play it . Also, animations look very nice. Any plans for some kind of funky soundtrack? EDIT: Just heard the "Music Test". Very funky!

@Axelhein: Unfortunately our musician just got very very busy and we are without music again @happymonster: We didn't showed her nipple, but she got a "bouncing boobs" animation! Just to keep things updated: I added a lot of stuff in DDD: - Shrines that mod attributes and add weird status
- Now you can have a lot of buffs active at the same time (still working on some visual feedback to this, probably small 16x16 icons over the character)
- Boss/Magic monsters that have unique attributes
- Extra images that can be randomly generated in each level
- A bunch of items, equips and shrines
- Online highscores
- Online death counter (the number of skulls in the ground is relative to the number of players deaths on that floor)
- Some new enemies
And here's a shrine screenshot: And a new enemy gif: I think that very soon I'll post an early build here and gather some opinions!
