My brother and I made this entry for Molyjam 2012 based on the pause tweet: "What if the pause button was a weapon? Until developers think outside the box we’re going downhill." - petermolydeux http://www.ninjadodo.net/temp/molyjam2012/html5/The Download Game button points to both a browser (html5) version and a downloadable (windows) version.

I assume the later ones? Were you making full use of the pause button?

It's an interesting concept, but I don't think the game's very fun. Trying to pause moving objects in the right spot is more tedious than anything. The graphics are pretty cool though.
Is the lack of sound just in the HTML5 version?

Fair enough. There's no sound. We ran out of time, plan to add it later.

Fun game, interesting core gameplay. I love the graphics style You should make more out of this, it result in a fantastic mobile game. Some ideas: Possibility to switch equipped items on enemies. Make the animation when they use them very clear so you can easily time it. Also a possibility to re-aim attacks. This could en up with puzzles such as: - An enemy is holding a gun and tries to shoot you. He is standing by a triggered rope. Switch his gun with a knife and he will cut the rope instead, firing a trap onto him
- An enemy wears a wooden leg. Switch it with a fish to make him fall over
- An enemy tries to attack you with a sword. Switch his weapon to a fish and take no damage at all!
- An enemy is about to eat a fish. Switch fish with live shark instead.
- An enemy is opening a door with a key. Switch his key with a torch and switch the door with a bomb.

Thanks for the feedback. @Gauss: an animation anticipating attacks is a good idea - we'll do that for sure - but I don't think we will add swapping items because it doesn't flow naturally from the core pausing mechanic and it would make the game insanely more complicated (in terms of new systems that would have to be implemented: rope, cutting, eating, balance, etc).

You have an interesting take on the tweet. Your pause button mechanic is almost the opposite of mine Your character moves very quickly, so it is a little hard to get used to, but I like it. Good job!

Alright. Ah, yes, it would take a lot more time to implement all that. I just thought this might become a very successful mobile game if it's fleshed out a bit.

Thanks! @Gauss: Appreciate it. I think we will flesh it out more, but don't know exactly how just yet. (some ideas) @Tadakuni: Yeah, it's neat how we both landed on momentum, but went in completely different directions with it. @Billtron: Not saying no to that! (sending PM)
