I don't think I'll be entering this year. I submitted a game last year just to get a feel for the process, but it really wasn't in a state where I could reasonably expect it to get any attention, let alone win anything. One of these times you'll see me up on stage at the award ceremony though, I know it!

every year you don't submit a game, you are infinitely less likely to ever be up there. the submission rate is growing exponentially, and the polish of the finalists is also increasing very quickly, upping the lower bounds for what a judge is willing to play through for longer than 5 minutes. it's pretty much already at the point where it's impossible to be considered unless you're a team, a professional, or just incredibly popular. the range of games that are considered for the award is too high for the smaller guys to have much of a chance anymore, for better or worse.
unless you're shooting for nuovo, that is.

I'll be submitting Dungeon Hearts and TIMESCALE. Not that I expect either of them to win anything, but there's no reason not to try, and getting more eyes on them can't hurt.
