Hey

Literally my first ever drawing. Downloaded some software called Pixen and drew this little guy, but I need help. Shoes is one thing, and it just looks a bit strange.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Its a little flat but much better than what I could do Wink
Pixen is a pretty awesome program. It could use a little work but I like it a lot.

Also try a program called Graphics Gale. I use it and I loves it so.
If you want to get better at drawing pixels try and practice more traditional art as well. Like drawing with a pencil what you see with your eyes and all that fun stuff.

^learning anatomy is very useful

regarding the pixel piece:

the image is very blocky and uses too many 45/90 degree angles

colors could use more contrast as well

for pixeling tips specifically, check out this tutorial
