Howdy my fellow TIGians!
This is the project:
http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=25685.0
Brief summary -
Build planets and alter them to your heart's content as you attract neighbors, monsters, and much more! Go on a quest to save the galaxy or just explore! Acquire the 8 elemental cannonballs and use them in various ways!

The programmer that I'm working with does things in C++ and Box2D currently.
I need another experienced pixel artist to help me with the art and a second programmer to help our main one lighten his load.

Please PM me, email me, or let me know in this thread if you can help out!

Hey there,

Great idea you've got there.
What musical style are you looking for?

Cheers,

Oh right! I kinda forgot to mention that didn't I?
My main inspirations for the musical style I have in mind are:
Kirby's Dreamland

Maybe not something that upbeat for like when you arrive on the home planet (or maybe so).
The rest of the game needs things like boss music, a change in tone when the stars change color and brightness to signify night and day, things like that.
Another musical inspiration I have for this is Animal Crossing (N64)

A mellow tune like that which makes you want to go around doing things without a care in the world.

I hope that helps!

Thanks for the info - sounds like fun!
I like the idea of dynamic music reflecting things like day/night change and special events.

I put together a little track earlier today - it's not much more than a layout, but is it perchance close to what you're looking for?

I played my limited platforming demo while your music was playing and I think it really captures the "out in the galaxy" feel I'm looking for. Just imagine that the player is constantly altering a small planet with different elements. Also look up the Mario Galaxy OST for more inspiration. If you wanna work as my main music/sound guy (hah, like I'm paying money till the game's selling) I'd like to have you with me in making this.

Wow, that was fast! Wink

I can't work for free, but I like your project and maybe we can find some kind of arrangement we're both happy with.
Let's talk about this per mail: info ||AT|| moritzpgkatz.de
