People have been contributing a lot of great things to Indie Brawl. While all contributions are appreciated, we need some contributions right now more than others. The purpose of this thread is to list the tasks that should be highest on our list of priorities. If there's no obvious place to post a contribution, post it here.

Graphics:
-Animate Xoda
-Animate Trilby
-Animate Turner
-Draw backgrounds for stages
-Draw items

Audio:
-Make sound effects
-Create music for stages and menus

Design:
-Come up with ideas for other characters and movelists
-Come up with ideas for stages and their implementations
-Come up with ideas for items

Playtesting:
-Test out the latest version and share your thoughts

Engine:
-Suggest an approved character to program
-Program an approved item
-Program an approved stage element

Other:
-Get permission from developers

I offer my services in coding characters. I don't know how good I'll be, since my own GM code looks insanely messy compared to yours, but I figure I can't do that badly if I follow your character template.

So, who do you want me to code? My first preference goes to Nikujin, of course. I can wait until his movelist is finalized, or start now and change it if necessary. Which would you prefer?

I would personally love to see more sprite artists helping out with the basic animations for some of these characters.  It's going to become crucial for the project to move forward in the next couple of weeks.

I'm going to try and finish Naija off tomorrow - who else is with me?! Evil

I'll give animation a shot, but I'm not very experienced so I (maybe? possibly? I don't actually know) work very slowly.

I mean, my Golden Knight sprite took me 6 or 7 hours, and that's a static image. And the arm still looked freaky at the end.

Even if you're not an experienced animator, there are plenty of single-frame "animations" that need done, such as Naija defending or flinching.

This is pretty low on our list of priorities right now... We don't even know which stages we'll be making yet.

Although this is a group project, I'm beginning to think we're going to have to split up everything to be handled by certain people. Currently, we're all bickering over exactly what sprite to use, and in some cases nobody's submitting anything just because they feel that it's not explicitly their responsibility. In other words, we could start assigning "project managers" for each character or responsibility, like music and level design.

What? We're not bickering. It's called a 'discussion.'

Oh sorry, you're right. Bickering is really too harsh of a word. However, the way we're "deliberating" on everything is sort of slowing things down. If we want this game to see the light of day, we'll need to really start working on everything. That's just what I'm thinking  Huh?

Right. The type of debates we're seeing on, say, the Dwarf thread are great. But we can't let them distract us from our top priorities, like animating Naija. That's why I started this thread.

I would be trying to give Naija some more animations but demake+other pixel job+school starts to-morrow is pretty much resulting in my time for anything else being like, negative.

I'll be done with Naija's animations by the end of tonight, I think.

That's frickin' awesome, Oracle!  MOAR MOAR! Kiss

Quote/Curly should be pretty easy overall - since most of their moves are gun attacks, if we get animations for firing left/right/up/down we're already halfway there!

P.S. Naija's almost done, animation-wise.

I think it could do with being a little bit slower, personally. Also, his hand and gun should probably move up and towards him bit as his arm bends, because at the minute his arm's fluctuating in length.

These are just small things, though, and are probably only worth worrying about later in the game, if at all. On the whole, it's awesome Grin
