A bit late to the party but never mind... Top-down 2D demake, vaguely Amiga-ish. It's going to make the game quite strange but definitely interesting and different, I hope. If we're gonna release something it'll probably be just the first 'case' and boss. If all goes well maybe we'll end up with an Abode of the Deceased spin-off, who knows? Wish me luck!

Cool stuff. But what is it a demake of? (I've been racking my brain but I can't work it out.) EDIT: Never mind, the penny just dropped. It's a great idea, btw! (Are they Alien-Breed sprite draw-overs?)

(Are they Alien-Breed sprite draw-overs?) Nah. But I love the shit out of that game so they will look similar (note: instead I actually ripped the road texture from AB:TA and fiddled with it because it's damn hard to make tarmac look good) Are the players going to be on rails?
Yer, of course.

Yer, of course. Awesome. It'll be like a casual shooter game.

(Tower assualt was bloody tough!) (It was probably the tarmac that gave it away in the first place, something about those yellow lines reminded me of TA straight away!)

This looks cool!
The name took me a while to figure out, and it made my girlfriend groan at the pun. ^_^

Do the cops get nicknames in this one too?
I thought it was strange that Janet was nicknamed "Janet".

Virtua Cop, as in virtual. Which is another way of saying "not real." Which is another way of saying "fake." And "pigs" is slang for "cops." The II is the Roman numeral for 2, indicating this is the sequel to the first Fake Pigs... which never actually existed. Kind of like Leonard Part 6, which was so bad they didn't bother making the first five movies. Hope this helps.

At the moment I've just got some of the SFX straight from the game, along with some Typing of the Dead ones. If I have time I'm going to recreate them for that more authentic and classy feel. As for the title, I started with Pretend Police, but it doesn't sound as hard-hitting as FAKE PIGS! I was going to make the characters real pigs as well, turning the game title on its head yet another time... but at the moment I've just pixelled their noses a little bit bigger. Current progress is that I've scripted in the first few enemies to see what it's like, and it's working quite fine. I've fiddled the reloading a bit, because on the PC version of VC2 you just spammed the reload button along with the fire button, but reloading isn't instantaneous now so reloading at the right times actually has a meaning. I'm hoping at least to get the first scene done before the deadline.

Stick with the pig-cops like you've got now, it's looking awesome. Only downside is it reminds me a lot of Duke Nukem 3D, but Fake Pigs is easy enough to figure out. Keep on it, it's looking great so far!

Ah, I get it. I hadn't heard Pigs used as slang for cops. Must not be part of my region's dialect or something.

The beginnings of a title screen. There should be no confusion now... Hostages are also in now...
