Lots of people dont fully understand the potential of the game just yet. They see the retro art as an excuse for poor gameplay rather than what the game will become once the gameplay is perfected and expanded along with the visuals. But thats why its still in alpha lol

That's what usually happens and to prevent that you do a release it to the wild when it's almost done.

You now have people see your low score and just ignore the game

8.2 is a horrible score!

CS:GO only got an 8.1

Hey, quick question:
Desura states that you must have the majority of your game finished, yet you guys seem to have an, as of yet (and no offense), pretty unfinished game so far.
Just kinda confused how that works because I'm contemplating putting my own game on desura and I'd like to know how far along it needs to be.

Lol i know right?  Durr...? The next update is going to be pretty drastic, visually and audibly speaking. Been making tons of changes this week, so keep your eyes open!

EDIT: Hey guys, been hard at work today working on battle algorithms. You can expect a more interesting experience when it comes to taking down the various dungeon fiends that are scattered about the depths. This is a process that i'm taking a great pride in perfecting. There's a lot of criticism on the game lately, mostly due to the fact that it's unfinished and many people don't fully realize that yet, but we are getting closer and closer to something that more resembles a true rpg.

Hey fellas, ALPHA 5 is currently in submission, Ton's of updates this week, here's a link to the news article on it: Alpha Update 5

To recap, here are some of the more important updates this week:

Fixed a good number of bugs
Visual Quality of the game has been drastically improved
Upgraded dev software for further development and game support improvement
Added proper battle damage calculation that takes into affect player's equipped weaponry and statistics
And we've got chiptunes provided by the amazingly talented minusbaby

And now the display resolution has been increased to 800*600, and you can switch back and forth from full screen by pressing alt+enter.

Give it a go when the alpha goes through, and help support development at 35% off retail price up until we reach the final release!

ALPHA 5 IS FINALLY UP!

-Fixed error causing controls menu screen to render improperly
-Renamed Keys to Make it More Easy to Differentiate Their Uses
-Improved Player Movement Speed
-Added Delta Time Equation for Game Slowdowns
-Visual Quality of the game has been drastically improved
-3d interface has been implemented
-Upgraded dev software for further development and game support improvement
-Added a toggleable Sprite backer that draws a solid black or white block beneath monsters, npc's, and items to increase readability that can be adjusted using the ini
-Added proper battle damage calculation that takes into affect player's equipped weaponry and statistics
-Improved enemy movement
-Background music added, provided by the incredibly talented minusbaby!
-Added toggleable Perspective effect that can be adjusted using the ini

Hey guys, thanks for being so patient, my network service was down for a few days. But work has continued at full force, especially after upgrading my development machine to the DigitalStorm XM11, which is an uber awesome gaming laptop that's only 11.6"! This tiny beast will play skyrim on ultra high settings at 60fps, so development is just blasting along!
