In regards to your female drawing,ImaginaryThomas, I think that the major reason that its coming off masculine is the hips.  Girl hips arent so pointy and straight, they are very round, just take a look at derek's sketch.  The hips play a major role in showing what gender your character is.

Wow, my proportions are WAY off. I never realized until I tried drawing with your "8 heads high" idea...

I'm drawing a crazy storm right now trying to get the proportions down correctly.

Establish realism first, style second.

I'm using this as a working motto now, working 100% on my form and realism before I even think of adding personality to things

Also, You guys are all so awesome for giving your advise and helping me. I really appreciate it  Wink
