im always really weirded out when people use the bullshit "nostalgia" argument against a game that came out 3 years ago. then i remember that most gamers are like 15

I don't think nostalgia was used correctly in the above image. A different word should have been used.

nostalgia as in longing for the past does imply a relatively distant past. "i feel so nostalgic for this ice cream i had the other week" is not something you'll hear anyone say ever. thats irrelevant anyway tho because what people on videogame forums mean by "nostalgia" is actually selective retention

As for NG. Belfry Luna is baby's first pvp and as such is really easy to get kills. Doesn't matter if you're the invader or the invadee. The main reason people complain about Belfry Luna is because its the first time you're actually forced to PVP and people are ~*terrible*~ at this game. Nobody bitches about Belfry Sol because you're (generally) a lot better at the game by then. Wouldn't the complaints have something to do with invasions whilst rookies are trying to summon other players for the gargoyle fight?

Kill the invaders then summon dudes at the fog gate?
Summon dudes before you get into the Belfry at the bonfire?
Man up and fight the bosses?

Well sure. Just saying it could be a reason. When I started, I'd barely find any summon signs let alone at Belfry, so I'd imagine a noob hanging around there and getting invaded successively, killed, losing his humanity, etc.

really? i always saw a ton of summon signs when i started out because a lot of noobs needed help with bosses apparently (not sure about belfry). i cooped a bunch of times against the last giant and always got summoned in like 30 seconds.

Reaching the Belfry gargoyles is a bit of a pain in the ass, yeah.
When I went to do the Gargoyles I was continually invaded by a twink with a maxed-out moonlight greatsword. Had to just sprint through the area and enter the boss door before he could finish spawning.
It was pretty annoying!

Oh right you can go through fog when you're being invaded.

Eh. Its possible but its not very effective. Mostly since scaling isnt as hardcore as it used to be.
It can be a pain in the ass if you dont know how to deal with whatever weapon/spell they are throwing at you.

i have no idea!!! you can still twink in pvp, though. soul memory only relates to what you buy/level up, afaik, not what you earn, so you can retain a lower soul level while still maxing out equipment. and, tbh, the equipment in DkS2 seems even more important than in DkS1.

SM is all souls earned, ever. Even if you lose them. And apparently all matchmaking is strictly SM-based. I would really like this matchmaking system, actually, if there was a way to delevel/remove souls (of course at the cost of what they gave you). Way it is now, your time playing with a low-level build is limited because your SM will increase. Oh well.

Soul Memory is every soul you've ever earned, spent, lost, or otherwise.
EDIT: dammit Zach
