It's probably just a raid or people ass-blasted that mcpixel got in and their favorite game didnt. If I was the mcpixel dev, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Everyone is always complaining, they want their 324523764523763rd zombie/FPS game instead. And most fail to grasp the simple concept that from approval to release might take a loooong time. Some of the greenlit games will be in development for awhile. I do think, however, that McPixel isn't worth $5. Was very surprised to see it cost that much.

I wonder if it was Steam that suggested this price or the author being stubborn...

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean? The link shows someone trying to cool down people, no?

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean? The link shows someone trying to cool down people, no? Yeah but the post is addressing a certain group of people ("bro army"). Also people are mentioning someone called pewdiepie who probably talked shit about mcpixel, causing his legions of followers to talk shit on the greenlight page.

i don't know what you guys are talking about, the game was $10 on his site. its' $5 *less* than its launch price on steam have we really reached the stage when even $5 is "too much" for a game? i remember when people used to *joke* about that, they'd be like 'in a few years people will even be saying that $5 is too much for a game', but i guess we've arrived at that now

Er, pretty sure pewdiepie is a person who does popular lets plays on youtube, who was positive about the game and helped it get greenlit. Hence "pewdiepie made this popular," etc. I don't think the pewdiepie fans are the ones who are angry about it getting greenlit.

I think the iphone-era got us there some time ago already. And free to play seems to be an evolving concept in addition. Games are oversaturated goods today. That is why less and less people value them, unlike 10+ years ago.

I agree with you on how games are now less valued, but this particular game is too short and too simple to be more than a browser / 99 cent game. Theres simply not enough meat to it.

I didn't know about the 10$. I think it's worse. No you'll not finish vvvvv or Braind in 3 hours without already knowing it by heart. Also, it's more about quality vs price, not much play time. I don't see why it would cost so much. I'm basing my thinking on the fact that I bought some games that I think took as much time to make but were more meaningful to me. But that's a subjective point, that's what i was meaning by my remark: he decided to go with this price, so be it.

Nice, I didn't, (took me some more hours for braid). Do you think it's normal? I don't think so. I seen tons of people play these games a lot and not finish them in such a short time. (because I don't rely on my own way of playing that is mostly slow as I like to explore a lot)
Wait, are we talking of the same versions of these games? I played braid on Xbox360 and vvvvv only the version that was on Steam (v2.0?).

i don't think much was changed between versions. and i don't know if it's average or not, but i do think the 2-3 hours for vvvvvv is average, because i remember a huge outcry that they had to pay 15$ for a 2-3 hour game

if it took you longer than 2-3 hours (3 is really stretching it) to beat vvvvvv on your first playthrough then you must be pretty terrible at video games. the game isn't really that hard and very forgiving with it's checkpoints. without getting the secrets my first playthrough was only an hour and 25 minutes. still worth every penny.
I played it for a few minutes and found McPixel to be silly. it's a quirky little game that has quite a bit of charm. it's only five dollars, not exactly going to break the bank.
personally I really don't think any indie game should be priced lower than 5 dollars.
