Paul> Voting by virtual friendship. This game has attained 0% of necessary positive ratings so far So there IS a threshold. yeah i got that too when voting for someone else's game. i'm not sure what % is needed or what that means yet

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=92924038I added my game on it. I have to say the service is nice but could use some improvements. Adding screenshots and videos was painful because I had to reload on each one uploaded. Also their votes don't seem to update as it goes, so I thought I was doing real good but I was just doing horribly. Oh well, it's cool still.

Paul> Voting by virtual friendship. This game has attained 0% of necessary positive ratings so far So there IS a threshold. yeah i got that too when voting for someone else's game. i'm not sure what % is needed or what that means yet I re-read the faq, see if they changed something. The current wording suggests that the necessary percentage to get on Steam is relative to the rating of other games submitted in greenlight. So I suppose that they have a percentage of games that they want to look at, say 5%. They look at these games only for getting into steam, and when they are in, there are still the top 5% that can get in. That way they can just process the top depending on how much people they have to check all these games, and other variables (like server workload, administrative work etc.) without giving a precise vote count. They certainly not expose the vote count to avoid reverse engineering their process and make bots easier. This is all supposition and fantasy obviously.

I've been browsing it since it launched, it's super fun I think it just crossed 300 games listed. It's like one big indie party. There are a few "collections" that highlight some of the best stuff on there, like the indiegames.com collection. (and I'm super chuffed that they included CQ2 ). But the funnest way's just to go through and click on random stuff! As for the percentage, it seems to me like everything's stuck at 0% for now. Maybe Valve are keeping things there and will start things rolling properly once the traffic stabilises.

Yeah browsing this is fun.
However it now shows how many "me too" games are being done. :/ There is so much similarities between games of the same genre, it's a bit depressing.
Well I knew that already but now we can see it more clearly.

Tempted to put Dungeon Hearts up, but I think I'm going to hold off until the iOS version is closer to completion and I've got more marketing art done.

I'm unhappy with the sorting of the front page, it's always the same and the sorting boxes don't seem to be updated correctly.
I would like a random sorting. It should also be the default.

i think it's random after the first page, but the first page is ordered by ranking of votes or something (the top games on page 1 seem to have the most votes)

Steam needs a random button for the workshop in general. Other things like portal and TF2 could use it to find lesser known about content. Let's hope it comes :/

You need a Steam account that you've bought at least one game on. For more information, they have a FAQ that should be of use.

Reading the comments on some of the game pages is like listening to nails scratching on a chalkboard. I hope the level of stupidity levels out eventually.

i'm pretty happy with the comments to my game. too bad the almost 100% positive comments aren't reflected in the only 42% positive vote ratio
