Looks great. I'm amazed to see a game so complex implemented in a Clickteam product.

Yeah, Crusader is what I thought if too, with a bit of Syndicate and Deus Ex mixed in.

Same, in the same order.

It's been a long time with no updates on these forums, but DataJack is now nearly finished.

Since my last post, I continued making missions and overhauled the A.I. and line-of-sight code. After recently taking stock of the missions and discussing the plot, I realized that the content is done.

What I'm working on now is flavor text and mission prompts, linking the levels up with my faction / reputation system. Then the game will be in a complete and playable state, at which point I can work on playtesting and balance.

After that, you can look forward to a DataJack release party!!!

My apologies for the silence on these forums. I have been keeping an updated devlog on my blog at epicbanana.com.

Stay tuned for some exciting announcements...

I have to say this is hitting a bunch of my nostalgia buttons in a pleasing way.

Yes, this is coming along nicely!
I get a very strong syndicate / Shadowrun vibe from this, which is perfect. Looking forward to see more.

Thanks everyone... This is the culmination of four years of work. I can't wait to get it out there.

I'm trying to put together more gameplay videos but whatever methods I was using last year no longer work. I don't know the trick to upload 640x480 video to youtube and not have youtube's post-processing mess it all up. Camstudio and Fraps don't seem to be working for me anymore either.

Oh I know that feeling, making screencap videos is something I do so infrequently that it takes me ages to figure it out in a way that youtube is happy with... and i've got programming to do dammit!  Maybe you could get someone else to do your video, that's what i'm doing this time.

As far as replacements of FRAPs etc go, try Screen Capture Recorder. Its a Java GUI wrapped around FFMpeg with the option to mess around with plaintext configuration files. Doesn't get much more reliable/efficient/tweakable than that.

I use MSI Afterburner to monitor gpu temperatures and it comes with good screen/video capturing, fps displays, etc, a lot like FRAPS. A little cumbersome to set up at first but then super easy to use. Also 100% free and with nice overclocking and fan speed options on top, though I don't use them on my 7970, I used them on GTX285.

Hi everyone!

DataJack is done... I'm doing some final bits and uploading it to Desura tonight. It's free with donations as usual. Check out my website at www.epicbanana.com ! Can't wait to finally get this game out after 5 years!

Thanks everyone! I've found there's a direct download link here: http://www.desura.com/games/datajack/download . Some people were complaining about having to install Desura, but you don't need to.

Thanks!!! I'm getting a good response so far, but it seems the tutorial is a little bugged.
