Update - New Release Updates are posted at the end of this thread (Latest Version 0.1.8.3) (02.07.2013)


Dungeon Colony is a real time strategy game combining Tower Defence genre with Dungeon Keeper game play and Minecraft crafting.

This is a prototype/early alpha - If you can look past errors and uncompleted features, I would be very thankful if you could tell me your impression and whether you would like to see this game completed.

Download Win, Mac or Linux.


Also note:
 - Made using LWJGL and requires Java to play.
 - Best played with Mouse! and Keyboard.
 - Minimum resolution required 1280x720.

I loved Dungeon Keeper. I would love to help work on this game with you. One problem that I noticed is that there are pitch-black areas on the map.

Once you have arranged the resources in the correct order, click the hammer button to confirm the recipe, then right click the item to craft it.

Black tiles are undiscovered. Command you workers to dig through to dark areas to reveal  what's hidden there.

Game interesting, but gameplay to hard for me...

Need alot of time to colect resourses, i think game need be faster. Its bored when minions moves like snails.

Bandits kill my colony... need more time to build traps in colony i think.


Mb bug, minions spend a lot of time chopping wood. This means that the cut not once, but run around the tree, task complete when im  clicking 100500 times on it :D

Added an easy mode, which gives about 5-10 add. minutes before the fist wave of enemies arrives.

You can upload new versions without the zip?

When press pause "P", cant open "escape" menu and others keys, buttons on hud = not work. I think in "pause time", tho ' give player ability to read blueprints, help and escape menu(choose screen, sound, etc).

Ideas:
- add ability to name dungeon
- add ablitiy to name dungeon master
- add sign at the entrance to the dungeon to dungeon called
- add chop/minning/atack icons

1. Creatures are going to have skill level upgrade options allowing them to work faster, carry more objects, become stronger and eventually learn skills.
2. For single player mode, speed controls (1x,2x,..) are also planned.
3. Traps have to be reset/rearmed in order to cause damage again. Spike traps can be reset using 2 spikes (select the spike from the container and right click on the trap to rearm it). Spike traps can be rearmed a few times before they are completely destroyed.
4. Once an enemy has been killed, click on the carcass to open its inventory. You can move loot to your dungeon by selecting it and right clicking to its destination.

This is awesome! I'm really liking what you've got so far. It seems like it will be really cool when it's finished.

I found the menus a tiny bit hard to navigate at first, it didn't feel so intuitive to have to right click to create things like torches (and the workbench box stayed on screen while I placed them). I also found it unintuitive that you craft stuff on your workbench which also seems to act as a stockpile/inventory. I guess I was expecting a dedicated space somewhere to build, but once I worked it out it was simple.

I can't wait to see how this game progresses. Keep up the great work!

I completed the game starter!!!! It can be download here. It works with Windows, Mac, and Linux and requires Java. Soon I am going to return to game content and logic, but next on the release list is cloud game save functionality. With an account you'll be able to play your game from any computer. Registration is free (it is not required to register to play the game tho!).

So would this would be a good time to start a thread over on DevLogs !?

Think u can start devlogs. Dont forget patchnotes. Hm. Im tried ur launcher, launcher dont search new version, dont downloading, and stoped on 0%(firewall offed).
+ i think need add feature like destination for new verstion like when installing new game on pc,previous to downloading

This game is awesome! Pretty difficult, but fun nonetheless. I only had a few issues:
1. It wont let me build a chest. I have the recipe laid out and when I click the build button, the game thinks I want to build 2 sets of torches...
2. I had a minion that was collecting wood get into a fight with a bandit, after the fight was done, he never bothered to put the lumber in the craft table and I cant right click on the craft table (after selecting the wood) to get him to put in it manually
3. If a minion had spikes in his inventory (which im not sure how he got them), i wasn't sure if it helped him during battles. And if it did, i couldnt figure out how to give other minions spikes...

But so far, I've really enjoyed this game and am looking forward to later releases. Smiley

@AHrEJl thanks for finding this bug!!  Smiley It's fixed... (A '/' was missing in the target url ! Lips Sealed) I found some other issues on the server, but also these are now fixed. so generally it should be working now. I noted your feature on my list for selecting the destination folder before installing the game.

Hi, Thanks for your feedback  Grin in the same order my answers:
1. I assume you have this setup ?:

if that's what you have, then maybe the problem is that the container storage was full 50/50 which then blocks crafting new things. (a bug I need to fix)
2. Sounds like a bug, thanks for spotting that.
3. The spikes are not weapons and currently don't help in battles. The minion probably was carrying the spike to place a trap. These minions will get smarter... Durr...?
