Release Candidate 1 for version 1.26 has just been released. It is public, which means you can download it from the Test Releases section over the official website at http://www.santiagoz.com/web

There are a LOT of changes between version 1.25 and 1.26, which I will list orderly once the official 1.26 version is ready... for now, I thank you for all the comments you can give about the game Wink

CvRL 1.26 RC1 Release notice
We get closer and closer to the official CvRL 1.26 release. This version, as usual, implements lots of new features and stuff (yes Smiley )

Some improvements over CvRL1.26pt4:

* Four castle branches added (Inner Quarters, Warehouse, Underwater Reservoir, Catacombs)
* A new flexible room-based dungeon generator
* More plot scenes
* Fight with a former vampire killer
* Added new areas (Castle Abyss, Dining Hall)
* Enhanced areas (Dungeon, Clock Tower, Lab, Starting Forest)
* New "secret" bosses

Contrary to the previous testing releases, this one is open to the public, while still not being the official 1.26 release.

I left the updated manual at work... I will post it on tuesday.

Thanks

Allright, we get closer and closer to official 1.26.

This version fixes some important bugs (bad teleport, duplicating items) and also implements some major changes over item distribution (artifacts and special items are much less common now) as well as gameplay (candles are not regenerated now).

Also, menbeast were too weak on last version due to a bug, they are back to full strenght now.

Very interesting rogue like game... It's a shame no one had replied yet.
I'm not much of a fan of the stye but I've played it a couple of hours and it was fun.

If anyone on these forums like rogue-like games, try this one out!

I've tried it before and commented on it, I think.

I really liked it; I like Roguelikes and this is certainly a quality example of one.

IIRC, I had trouble finding the way to the next 'map'; dunno what you could really do about it.

Thanks for your comments. Smiley

About how to go to the next map, this is mostly acomplished by "going to the right", just like in all classic CVs :D

Release Candidate 3 (Final RC) for 1.26 is available now.

Some critical bugs have been fixed, including teleporting, level navigation and overpowered shielding. Also the vanquishers are stronger now, and several presentations changes were made.

Full list changes, downloads and further info at http://www.santiagoz.com/web

Please tell me your comments and suggestions. Official 1.26 version is coming soon.

Thanks

Just started trying this out.  It seems pretty cool so far, I especially like how you've dealt with multiple floors.

Question: is it possible to switch quickly between having a melee and ranged weapon?  Because the way I'm playing right now I have to unequip my throwing knives every time an enemy gets close (which is just about every enemy).  It just seems a little awkward.

EDIT: Nevermind, yes you can by pressing x.  I learned something.

Indeed... also, remember 'j'umping, which is useful, and 'a' to make semi-ranged attacks with long weapons. Also... 's'kills will make your life much easier Smiley

So far I've had the most success playing Knights of the Order.  Vampire Killers seem to be fairly challenging.

Hey Slashie!

I've played this game a lot ever since I volunteered to test it! Played a lot it's various release candidates and test versions. It's so great. I love it and as some had said here it's one fine example of a RL.

If I find anything you might need to know I'll let you know, but in the meantime, congratulations on the release, it's been a lot of effort and it shows! Thanks for sharing.
