I've been playing nothing but Grid Wars 2 for the past month... Aside from appealing to my retro desires, I think the reason I keep coming back to it is that it's so easy to pick up and play... and then put right back down.  You hit the button and the game starts... in 10 minutes I am done and go back to doing whatever I was doing before I decided to take a break.

So... what other games are like this?  No save points... no "just one more level"... in and out, easy as pie.

I've heard great things about Pac-Man: Championship Edition for XBLA.  Seriously!

Me too.  I've heard great things about Pacman CE on 360.  A friend of mine was ranked number 3 in the world yesterday.  He cannot stop playing.

Don't peddle your vile candy to me, candy man!

I've only got 800 points to tide me over until I work up the wallet might to go to the local EB, and those are going to Space Giraffe!

Weird Worlds and Oasis.  Weird Worlds being like a short pick up and play space/galaxy exploration game.  Oasis being like micro Civilization.  Both I've had a lot of fun with.

Another vote here for Weird Worlds and Oasis. Both cracking games which eat up only 10 minutes at a time (less in Oasis' case).

I play basically all games for 10 minutes at a time, and these are the ones that have been the most fun at that, what with auto level saves, high scores, short rounds/puzzles, etc:

Poyo
Chocolate Castle
Torus Trooper
Parsec 47
Blocksum

Oasis is more than a little intriguing too, tho I don't know if I like it enough to buy it yet.

Off PC, there are a few games that I frequent for short play, spread across a few systems:

Metroid Pinball on the DS
Wii Sports Tennis
Mario 64
New Super Mario Bros (until you beat it that is)
Pokemon Diamond
Trauma Center

I've played most of these games most of the way through in relatively short chunks and they've all been very pleasant at that rate!

Ah yes... Weird Worlds.  That is a great suggestion... right up my alley.  I already own Oasis.

I don't usually get into the shooters... for some reason Grid Wars just grabbed me... but I will check out Every Extend also.

Gracias!

(No Pac-Man CE for me... I don't have a 360 yet)

Yes.  Please write up a full and detailed review.  That will be very helpful to me, because I'm too lazy to google it.

Oh man...a bunch of memories just flooded back to me. Me and my friend used to stay up all night trying to get further and further in the game. I think that's a good example of a game with a tough control scheme, but is totally fun because of it.
