graphics seem to have improved a bit since i last played it. send me a new version if you want more testing btw!
Yeah, graphics have been completely re-done since the version you played. Same for the entire meta-game. I'll send it to you once it's playable.

What's cool about my cutscene system is that it uses actual in-game rules, so some scenes can be fully playable or a mix or player-controlled and scripted. Pretty happy with it.

Meanwhile, I also started some soft beta tests, as the game is close to being content-complete for the Early Access launch. So far, so good, but it looks like even a procedurally generated game needs a quest log to keep track of progression.

So, uh, I haven't posted here in a while. Maybe because I also didn't release anything in a while. Who knows. Shrug

Either way, things happened and last year I was finally able to make Bonfire my main project and actually finish it. It's launching on Steam very soon, and it feels all kinds of crazy. All in all, this game went through two complete revisions and took over 6 years to get from a silly battle system prototype to a pretty large and oddly personal tactical RPG. It's the longest I've ever worked on a game, but also the most fun I've had since Magi's release 12 years ago (!!!!!).  Tears of Joy

Here's how it looks now:

(Please don't ask how much time I've put into making this GIF, ok?)

We also have a Steam page where you can wishlist it (or just watch more pretty GIFs). I want to have some public demo available soon.

Dunno what else to write. Crazy journey. Thanks for all the feedback! Pretty proud of how it turned out. Wish me luck.  Beer!

The game comes out in two weeks! After almost EIGHT years of development!

We also have a demo available on the Steam page right now. Feedback is, as always, very welcome!
