The sequel to the game no one will ever play (unless they visited the unfinished game dump)!
Why?
Because, well Mafia DuDes was hard. Even when you got the best weapon, and the best possible position, you were going to lose. And if you died once, it was all over. Not because you only had one life, but because you couldn't regain momentum.

So about at least month to two ago, I was bored and thought, why didn't we add randomized weapons?
We already had random weapons, but they were the same weapon each time, no variation.
So as time went on, SMD slowly changed its identity from the old MD. No rip-off characters, or weapons. 100% original content donotstealunderanycircumstance.
More enemies, and more weapons meant more fun.

Some examples of changes between MD and SMD:
MD only had one special crate per life. In this crate was a specific weapon.
SMD has special crates spawning just like normal crates, they contain better weapons.

MD had only 3 crates, basic, special, and hp.
SMD has more: Basic, Tinker, Special, Coin, Crate Crate, HP restore and HP upgrade.

MD threw you right into the action.
SMD has a little breather period between lives.

MD had 'static' weapons, they never changed'.
SMD has dynamic weapons, at most 2 attachments and an element.

MD had 3 enemies: The flyingbastarD (Not kidding, you'll find out why), the lightningDuDe, and a specific enemy per map, (Like creepers in the Minecraft level.)
SMD has 5 enemies, with some variants.

MD was good, and is 'dead'.
SMD is better, and will continue to improve.

Also, I do accept requests for this game. Mafia DuDes had a rule: It could be put in Mafia DuDes.

This game isn't too bad! Though as rivon said, screens would've been nice.

Controls: The jumping is a bit jerky, so while the physics of the leap is nice and smooth, the jump timing is a bit off. But I do like how the mouse controls the gun.

There's also alot going on, with the different enemies attacking you, but that does give it some atmosphere, in addition to the off-beat art style.

Looking forward to more levels! Smiley

The source for SMD updated at about 1:00 am tonight (today?)
And so as is common for me and my co-dev, I popped open a text file and this was sent back and forth to reveal new upcoming features (also labeled for your ease of reading):
Quote
Me: the hell you doing
Him: trying to give bots attachments. some of them aren't working.
Him: halp
Me: ugh.
Him: ;w;
Me: once I'm done making the menu system, I'll work on those bot attachments
Him: mk
Just finished the menu system, and it's quite versatile if I do say so myself.
Looking forward to more levels! Smiley
There's been a second level in the game, but you can't access it due to the lack of the above mentioned menu.
It's also was un-tiled, so it was invisible

Added a new type of 'crate' yesterday and making the rockets do more than just be a fancy bullet, by adding knockback and splash.
However, I don't like the system of 'if you're in a certain radius take damage and knockback', so I'll make a rocket explosion more fitting for Mafia DuDeS

Bleh, going through and tidying up spritesheets.
Nothing that you guys'll see, but it makes making new sprites easier since I don't have to fight for space.

Huh.
Apparently the song my friend wrote for another game which I played in that last video is very similar to a song called Ocean Paradise by Golden Drill.

Why did I just make a giant flying wurm boss who spawn with any element (including Death)?
Because fuck you, it's Mafia DuDeS

As the crickets chirp away, I do not care!
Working on making the third boss right now.
So far there are two, a Void Knight (From my old project Last Ascent) and that giant wurm I mentioned above named Skelerak

Showing off two of the new bosses.

Need to work on the text for the spawning

I like the thick black outlines on everything, but I wonder how it would look with some hue shifting. Anyway, is there going to be a story mode, or just kind of a survival 'waves' kind of mode?

His shifting does exist in small amounts, like the background gradient.
As for an in-game story, I don't really know. There's a story based on the game over at the MSPaint Adventure forums, but an in game story would he kinda weird
