Hey, I'm working on a halloweenish game about a semi-ghost black cat that jumps around eerie cemeteries, doing black cat stuff.
Check the graphics: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=27788.0

It's a work in progress, but I'd like any feedback from this stage on.

Hello,

Pretty cool. You've nailed the theme harmonically!

Are you planning on adding some percussion? Or at least some percussive instruments?
Pizzicato strings, staccato woodwinds and wood mallets (think of a skeleton playing a bone xylophone) work well with spooky moods and could give your piece more of a "sneaky" sound and a more relaxed drive.

Keep us updated!

Cheers,
Moritz

P.S.: Alas, no SoundCloud embedding on the TIGForums. I've tried workarounds with the [flash] tag - no dice!
Would be pretty cool, though.

Good work...I'd consider some EQ on the organ and also adding some reverb?  But yeah, the tune is great!

Thank you, guys.

@Mortiz - Bone Mallets ! Awesome! I'll give it a try.

@Gavin - Should I filter the high freq's on the organ? I'm worried that maybe the reverb ends up sounding too high-res. Actually, I'm thinking on using 8-bit samples, what do you think?

Personally just from a couple of listens it's more the bass on the organ that I'd remove a little of, but experiment and see how it sounds!  Agreed about the reverb, but you can also always EQ that or generally adapt it to taste by using it as a send effect.

When reverb sounds too hi-fi, one good trick is to use a subtle delay instead. Or an emulation of a "vintage" filter echo like this.

That said, don't be afraid to make your music sound too good. As long as there are some lo-fi elements in it, players will recognize and accept it as appropriate.
